14 (os so) of us showed up to Buxton for a squirt around the bush with Pat. The crew was made up of a mixture of AMTRA members, DBW guys, DirtriderZ guys and some of Pat's mates.
Perfect weather greeted us as we headed off. Some of the tracks were VERY slippery and I was starting to doubt my decision not to go for new rear rubber for the day.
Pat took us along a great variety of trails. (Unbeknown to us) the ST fairy had been out and dropped a trail of orange triangles throughout the bush. Hoping to catch up with her, we dutifully followed the trail (repeatedly), but alas, we never found her. So we had to follow them back to where we started and pick up some regular trails.
We stopped for lunch and a chat, then continued on. The group all flowed pretty well, except for Frankie who bailed earlier on, Michael who was stuggling a bit with his first trail ride (on a 84 XR 200) and me who just struggles!
All in all, a good day out. We were back at the cars after 80 k's with no injuries, flats or (major) breakdowns.
Thanks to Pat for a great ride and to me for tailman duties.

Pats Buxton ride, was a great day for all. Or I suppose so as I know I had a ball. What more could you ask for 18 deg sunny, freshly washed slick tracks of red clay & no dust! Haha just a little bit of mud thrown into the mix for good luck. Pat had found some new tracks & these proved a great source of mirth for everyone ! Some of the tracks pat had found over the last 3 months were looking simply great now. So this area is proving to be an excellent ride area for us. Nathan proved unstoppable & seemed to relishing the choice of bike for the ride. Gotta love your work mate of passing some riders going around a tree, by blasting over it yourself! Haha some suprised riders there! The whole ride was as usual up to Patricks standard which is always high. I recommend any of Pats Buxton rides for anyone wanting a great day out. All the riders were great, as usual really! Nice to see some new faces. I look forward to posting some video again of this ride later in the week, of particular interest will be the only hill that stopped a few riders, where Serge finally admitted he should have bought a new rear tyre rather than relying on a slick for grip. LOL Good work in getting through that day anyway mate. Cheers Pete, Oh dont forget my KLX450 is up for sale

Yea Zeb, the KLX has heaps of torque as does the KTM but they are different bikes for sure. More than once I found myself looking at the sky using the right hand too much LOL. Cheers Pete

Cheers Pete At least the sky was blue , thats when you get on the tank and keep twisting .... Howd you enjoy living without the engine braking, not having it really makes you ride the bike doesnt it , you cant afford to be lazy otherwise you end up blowing right through the corners , knowing you like to twist it on a bit bet you had a couple of OH SHIIIIIT moments .

Yep a bit of bum puckering as I arrived a little quicker at some corners than usual! But I worked it out prety quick. I still love the KLX as I had become so used to how to ride it, I dont really know what you mean about rapping it on as I consider I am a very moderate sedate (old)rider at best. particulary after chasing Nathan, Chris & luke for a day! Cheers Pete

Pete. Zeb can teach you about rapping on the throttle. You can tell by the mud sliding stains on his bike gear, how much his been rapping it on. AL

That was all about fuel conservation Pete! The shortest distance between two points is a straight line!! Not to mention that i couldn't be stuffed going around the tree
