Hi all,

We all met at the United Servo at Glenburn for Pat's secret squirrel ride. We got there a bit early at 7.30am, but to our suprise, there were already some keen beginners (ha ha) there already ie Cyril Despres & Taddy Blazusiak & Chris Birch & Stefan Merryman & Chad Reed & Paul Bolton & Robbie Maddison etc etc.... Grin

I knew at this point I would be the tailman's witch Roll Eyes

Even though it was drizzle raining we still got dust heading down the road into the secret garden (literally, there were daffodils growing everywhere)...awesome place Pat. Group of about 18+ of us 'beginners" Huh

?? including two other girls ...yay..Emma & Deb, who rock, headed off straight into a loooooong hill...The rest of the ride kept us all on our toes, very slippery when wet & we learnt heaps (us beginners you know? Huh

??) Usual up & around logs,hills, rock, ruts, wombat holes & yes, true to Pat's form "THAT HILL" going down Shocked

....Us beginners are guns now (well some of them)...Thanks Pat for a great ride once again full of surprises & never dull...Thank you too, to Tailman Serge & his Wingman....Cannot thank you guys enough for level of assistance given...(I think they have both gone to emotional counciling now)...you's know what I mean Undecided

But as long as you put up with me, I'LL BE ON YOUR NEXT RIDE PAT!!!!!!!!! LOL (only level 1 of course).
Great place to ride, virgin tracks everywhere (settle down guys) & an absolutely fantastic crew on this ride...you all did so well...see you all again soon.

Thanks to Pat for posting the ride and to the sweeps for cleaning up after us.This was my first AMTRA ride,and there were a few more waiting at the servo than I had expected.The rain had made the tracks nice and slippery,and there were more than a few moments of sphincter pucker as the rear wheel caught up to the front on a few of the greasy uphills.That steep rutted downhill caught a couple out,but most got down without drama.A few had a crack at going back up with good results.There were quite a few trees down across the tracks,but they didn't offer to much resistence,just a little entertainment.Would love to have a crack at the same loop when it is a little drier,but you ride the conditions,and they where what they where.
Everyone came back in one piece,although there might be a few with some war wounds.

Thanks Pat this wasnt the quickest ride I have ever been on but it was one of the best, Great ride lead and thanks to the guys mopping up at the tail without one single complaint, without you guys these rides would never happen thanks for showing us a piece of heavan cant wait to go back to PATS BLACK RANGE.

FANTASTIC DAY DESPITE THE pooTY WEATHER ..

Many thanks Pat for organising the ride and also Serge for doing the tailman duties - I had a great time in the slush after I dropped the tyre pressures down a bit!

Even with the lower pressures, some of those greasy hills were still a real challenge!

Thanks for everone attending this ride. I have not yet managed to shake the Chain&Sprocket fairy. This time i was the target with the joining link departing company on my bike. The result was a gouged out clutch slave cylinder and swingarm, also the side cover is a throwaway. They chain whipped up and smashed the crap out of it. Quick fix if you have the right tools and parts. Thee wheather ended up being reasonably good. The tracks were slippery, but the one near the powerlines was a standout and needed good throttle control. I was riding Emma's KLX 450 at the time and it needed respect as they are a bottom end monster of a bike. The Sherco did not break down, only the japanese chain let it down and the side stand ended up in my back pack due to a missing bolt.

Thanks for another great ride Pat.My intention was to get some good video but due to drizzle on the lens and having to pull my goggles down to see,I didn't get alot.
I think I still got enough to put some video together though.
