Well 6 of us headed off at 8.30am for a blast around Marysville. It appears the latest rain gave us all some interesting moments on the slippery as ice red clay. Paul led us on some intersting trails before I had a minor collision with a branch from a fallen tree (at about 60kmh) and upon inspection it was confirmed as a decent off. This led to all retreating to the car park to help load my bike. The most disappointing part of this, it was only 11.00am. Back to the hospital, very happy doctor jabbed my a couple of times which hurt more than the off, then the obligatory removal of excess tree that I had collected before 3 stiches and being sent on my way. In all seriousness, thanks to all the boys for all their help and I'll be back out there soon.

Mark, you are a confirmed volunteer for the next chainsaw brigade. There is great satisfaction in giving a little back to the community, even if that community is a bit less feeling  than one's self.
My little brush with destiny has had its repercussions, my nicely plated up thumb didn't last my Alaska trip and I returned with a more damaged item than which I left with. Another day in hospital and more surgery followed with a splint like a childs swing, a pin through my thumb bone and two rubber bands.  I could see that was not going to work with my revolution to all things piercing. However, I managed to get the thing infected, spent another couple of days in hospital- a drip on a drip- and now have a much more sensible cast over my thumb, which is restricting and  can't play the piano, and can't imagine I will be riding again for a couple of months.
Which brings me to another item, I am going to claim TAC and would like to know who actually saw our little collision. Whoever was behind Charlie, or the bike coming towards us at the time will do.  Call me or email me if you are able to put your name on my claim form.
Sitting aound at home is boring so I am getting my huse painted.

There was a plus to this injury. Undecided

The smokers in the group went home. Which meant that Jason and I didn't have to sit around every 20 minutes and wait for the smokers in our group to finish their fags. Angry

(They might have been having a cigarette as well  Tongue)

The smokers went home because there was drizzle which stopped just before they left - leaving Jason and I to ride perfect trails for the rest of the day !!!! Grin
