Friday Night i looked at the Weather Report and Saturday was Raining and Sunday was going to be fine, i took off from me Joint at 6.30am and headed for Marysville at a nice cruizy speed. With a quick stop off at Healesville to have a Hot Chocy with Ted n Phil, i was quickly off and Driving up the spur to the Meeting spot, which has changed quite a lot after the Fires, and the Temp was only 2 Deg at 8.15am.
31 People thought it would be a good idea to head out with Phil for a cruisy ride around the Triangle, the scenery and roads have all changed and most of the time i was totally lost, there was about 6 times when i could recognise where i was. The Roads were typical Marysville, Super slick and 10 Metres later Super traction. The biggest thing i liked was the Spoon Drains, you could hit them hard and get some good Air Time, a couple of times i landed a bit hard, but the New Bike with it's Closed Cartridge Forks soaked it up and made the Landing silky Smooth.
There was all types of riders from a Beginner on a DRZ400 with a Learner Plate strapped to the back, to a Fella on a DR650. Phil kept things easy to keep the group flowing but on the odd occasion through in some slippery up n down hills to keep the Heart rate going.
Around 12 ish we arrived at the river Crossing where the Rec Rego only took there lunch break, and us with full Reg cruised into Marysville to the Bakery for some Hot Pies and some Goodies.
Dave Petroff had decided the his FE570 was to powerful for him and opted for a New TE300, i tried to get him to Pull some good Mono's, but his Balls weren't in the right place on the Day
.
On a couple of Hills a few riders struggled to get up , but the AMTRA help shone through. I got to ride a DRZ400 up one of them and managed a good Mono for the Guys waiting up the Top of the Hill " Dr's Mono very well but come down hard.
By mid arvo a few decided it was all to much for them and rode back to the Cars to collect there Pink Dresses. I kept Ted amused with some rider antics and help him out whenever i could.
Lucky Phil still rides well for an old dude, i hope i'm still riding when i'm his age and hopefully still able to keep on the bike.
Ash got a Flat late in the arvo and we all decided it was game over, so we rode back , packed up n Headed Home.
Marls was a bit overwhelmed with some of the Slippery down hills but ride quite well considering the conditions.
A couple of rides had Helmet cams and hopefully they will post some footage.
Mark C & Chris Mc took turns at Tailman duties all day and did a great job of herding the riders along.
Thanks Phil for a great day out riding and i think the Rider No's will get back to the 40+'s again.
