Title: Harrow Vinduro Post by: Wade E on July 30, 2012, 10,45:35 AM G'day all, as you know Serge, Pat and myself entered as team amtra in the 4th running of the Harrow Vinduro for pre 1985 enduro/trail bikes on the weekend, so heres just a few words and pics of how it went. The ride attracted 140 starters and set up along the lines of early 1980's enduros with 3 riders leaving the start line per minute and each lap of 45km broken into 4 sections.
This is sheep grazing country so there no tracks to follow only arrows on trees making the first lap navagation challenging at times as the route took us up hills, down gullies, through creeks, swamps and deep river sand. You be happy to know that we all finished the event intact completing 2 laps each and collecting a silver medal for our efforts! Thanks to Serge (http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss315/EVO450/Harrow%202012/DSC00894.jpg) The first part of the coarse took us through back yards. Got to love the good people of Harrow! What a great event. 90 k's on these old girls is bloody hard work, and I'm certainly feeling it today. 5 hours is a long drive after a day in the saddle, but as far as the event goes, I wouldn't change a thing. The course was fantastic, with a mixture of steep ups and downs, LOTS of single track, weaving through granite boulders, sandy riverbeds and deep gullies. My PE ran like a dream all day and I'll certainly be heading back there next year. Title: Re: Harrow Vinduro Post by: Dirtpilot72 on July 31, 2012, 10,25:14 AM XR's rule!
