Hi all,
Yes, we have finally done it...David T & I have completed Lyndon Hefferman's fantastic Yamaha Offroad/MX Training course over a whole weekend at Al's place.  We now both know how to, nail the berms, fly through the air doing the triple jumps & backflips  Wink, go over BIG logs  Shocked, pop the front wheel & do mono's (I flipped my bike doing a mono (oops), no damage done to bike luckily, do powerslides, race little tackers (some were like 5 years old & passed me  Lips sealed), & some were very senior kids & passed me  Cry, but this was fast pace, so I actually went faster (believe it or not)... Dave rode with the Intermediate group & rode like a gun, I stuck with the let's say, easier group & the kids...these kids really know how to ride...WOW!. Worthwhile course for anyone. David & I both won prizes at the end of the course for our achievements in one way or another.

It was also great to ride with & meet Ken from AMTRA SA Club. Thank you for letting me ride your bike & hopefully we can join you on a combined AMTRA Vic/SA ride soon, that you spoke about organising  Cool

Thank you also to Peter, for lending Fred your SLR camera which he has taken some awesome shots with; Peter's going to burn a CD for us & as soon as we get the pics, we will post them here for all the students to see  Roll Eyes

Big thankyou once again, to Al, Heffo & his crew & kids, for a great weekend;
Here are some of the pics...if you want to see all of them, check them out on Photobucket:

Hey Marls.

Great report and pics.  I'm so jealous, I've been wanting to do that course for months.  I've heard good reports about the weekend, do you think it's helped your riding?  I like the idea of being challenged with new techniques and having the opportunity to keep repeating them over and over again.  The next one is up in November as luck would have it, it's on my daughters birthday.

Look forward to hearing all about it on the next ride.  DanJ

Good stuff Marl's. There is even a couple of shots with the look of some agression on the face. It will help heaps out on the trail and the slow speed skills make a huge difference on the more technical trails. Your almost ready to do Fumina properly! Al

Fred - great photo's - cant wait to see what you got on the SLR Smiley Great weekend and the best $200 I think I have spent - and no need to be jealous Dan - the next one is on in November on the 13th and 14th - I'd do it again - but probably best to practice it all on Brad's ride at Nojee! - so i will do it again next year.

Hi Mikey Black DRZ,
Yeh, Freddo did a great job on the pics & really looking forward to the SLR ones. Peter sent one to us today via email as a tease of what's to come. This is a shot of Peter going over a log but notice the guy in the background; don't know whether he made it or not  Huh
Cheers...Marls

Marl's, once you make afew corners on Brad's ride let me know! Talk to Fred about the trickyer stuff he did on Brad's Level 2 loop, and ask him how he would feel about doing it all day? (100+ ks of it)Should see you and Fred at Abbeyard on Monday arvo, if i surrvive that long on the four day. And if you get the chance to do the training weekend again in 6 months, you should. You will be supprised at the difference you notice. Ive done two, and happily go again for a refresher. Al
