Will Munro Ride Leader Old 300EXC Mathew Creasey Tailman 511 Sewing Machine Frankie Reefman New 300EXC Gary Clarke 250 Sewing Machine Red Ron CRF450 Flipper Peter YZ on steroids Mario new member DRZ something James Guest who should be a member A very big Yamaha XT Darren Lynch Some sort of green Jap bike Rossi Ranyard another bloody one of them, good sewing Machine 310s
What a day, I had a wog take possession of my body for the last week so driving there this morning in the rain I had all sorts of thoughts going through my head. I arrived and sooked a bit and I can always rely on Pommy Mat for the right encouragement so not before long I was getting changed into my riding gear, then of the ute with the bike and time for a quick chat with the guys about the ride and corner man system as we had a couple of new faces along for the first time. Well I sucked them in once again with the following, Well fellas Im crook, so Im goin to down the ride to level 1 till I feel better so we are going to head to Hawthron crossing and have a cruise around Noojee. A close call with a Wallabie on the road to Hawthorn crossing got my sphincter valve puckered up and it was on. We crossed the new bridge and turned right, the trails were greasy but premo in and out of clay over wash outs and in and out of puddles I was having a blast, anyway after about 6 klms of this I decided to turn right, what a track but after a few klms it was a dead end, but that's ok we get to ride it again. Still a level 1 barring a couple of spots at this stage, back to the main rd and turned right for a few more klms were I found another inviting track to the right, off we went then past some nice farm land and then down this farkin hill, I never seen the RH side and LH side of my rear wheel when riding before, I could not get any more opposite lock on I was on the steering locks both ways so I headed for the nearest rut to re gather my self and my bike, as I looked to the right of me I could see Rossi checking the density of the mud with his face as he did a face plant due to to much front brake, sorry mate would love to stop and help ya but I'm only a farking passenger on this ride. Down the bottom was a small creek crossing and what looked like just as greasy clime so it was commitment time and back on it, then down another one of thow's greasy mother Farkin hills, its ok we were all thinking we wont need to go back up them suckers. WRONG, after a couple of hours riding some awesome trails which all lead to dead ends or farm land it was time to head back. The first hill Gary and Mat had a lot of fun watching James get up on his very big Yamaha XT, but the other 7 of us were on that first hill, well 1.5hrs later all ten bikes and riders were at the top thanks to efforts of many. We then headed back to the carpark via a couple of level 2 plus tracks and then 7 of us headed to the Robin Hood Inn for the usual advice session, so I managed to turn my Level 1 ride into a Clubman, Bill and Menace must have know since they were no shows. By the way , absolutely no dust and only a couple of small showers once over the bridge, I think it was wetter in Neerim Sth today, but as we headed for the Inn at 3.30pm boy did it Puss down. Thanks to everyone who attended and made the day what it was bloody awesome, till next time Will Munro.

Great ride, and it was good to see everyone kept their sense of humour with the challenge of getting up that greasy, winding hill climb. I'm still amazed that we managed to get the XT660 to the top - good teamwork!
Thanks Will for running the ride, and to Mat for doing the tailman duties (and climbing up/sliding down the hill many times).

RIDE REPORT UPDATE We left around 9.45ish and got back about 2.30 and we managed around 60 klms. Have washed the bike 3 times and when I just went to check the speedo there is still some clay under the fork protectors, but wish we were out there doing it all over again today.

Good to be back on the bike again. Thanks to Will for putting the ride together and to Matt for tailman and poo stirring all day. It took some time removing the mud from between my teeth, note to self, stop grinning when hurtling face down, head first down greasy muddy hills... Good bunch to ride with....
