The 2010 LBJ enduro.. It was hot as usual for this time of year.
I started on row 1 with 4 other mates and 5 mates behind us on row 2.  It was extremely dusty, Three of the riders on row 1 with me are a little faster, so after a mile or so they were out of sight.. Which turned out to be a blessing as I could ride with very little dust to worry about.. My right arm pumped up again in the first section, approx 6 miles.. Johnny from the 2nd row caught me and passed me on his new 2011 300xc.  In the second section approx 9 miles, I developed a blister on my right thumb, which hurt like blazes with any throttle movement, which means it hurt a lot... Grin. Johnny caught me again, also Herb and Nick went past. At the end of that section I found a spetator who had some tape in a first aid kit.  I taped up my thumb and pain was gone...
The next section was 15 miles I put some extra effort into it now. I was feeling good, the arm pump was gone, my thumb had no pain.. Johnny did not catch this time... Then the petrol stop.. Two more sections after the petrol stop.  Johnny never caught me again for the remainder of the race.. I had one hard crash into a tree while going uphill. Twisted the bark buster up on the right, pushed the brake lever up and had the brake lever pivot jamming on the throttle housing.. I didnt fall down, but ended up hugging the tree to keep myself upright. My helmet, shoulder and right thigh all hit the tree at the same time.  Banged the brake master cylinder away from the throttle and kept on trucking..  Finished the race feeling pretty good.. In fact it would have been nice to have another section to ride..  I guess the work in the gym over summer had payed off.. Wink
