Title: 2013 High Country Ride
Post by: nitro0406 on April 08, 2013, 06,16:47 AM
G'day I am looking at doing the high country ride this year for the first time im on a DRZ400e with road legal nobbies. My wife is also looking at doing it she is on a CRF150R. I was just wondering what level of riding and what kind of obsticles there are and also how far do you need to ride before fuel top up is availiable as i am unsure about the 150R. Also what should I be bringing/ etc preparing as i have never done the ride
cheers

Saturdays ride is about 150 km with fuel top up around 90 km I think.

The ride has some long climbs and steep descents but not really anything hard, more the distance. On our ride grading it would be level 2 with doing it at a higher pace making it clubman.

It is advisable to bring a hydration pack with room for a jacket and basic tools to suit your bike, plus spare tubes. The most common things on the ride are punctures (quite rocky) and dewatering if you mess up a water crossing.

Give me a call on 0409 520 642 if you want to discuss.

If the saturday ride is too long for your wife she could come and just ride Sunday, we can find her a spot to be involved on Saturday.
