Std! The way they come is fine. Lots people have changed the tip and other bits, but ive done nearly 11,000ks as it left the dealer. Never had to rejet or touch a mixture screw in the hole time ive owned it. Dis connect the magical grey wire and your a way. Just my appion, ive never made it up a hill due to a lack of grut! Only a lack of talent! And if you believe some people around her im suppose to be an expert rider? Al

Yamaha make a good system. But seriously why do you want to change it? I have seen quite a few wrf250's with after market exhausts. Most of them made a little more peak power. However, most of them really struggled when things went vertical (hills). They just seemed to lack torque and stall easily. I have even seen the same bike ridden by the same rider on the same tracks really struggle after fitting a new pipe.
If you just want more noise, try a pro circuit T4. THEY ARE REALLY LOUD!!!

Yeah thnx for yr input and comments Aaron and AL. I did have the grey wire cut, i just wanted a bit more power from it. So the pro circuit t4? whats the db ? Do i get the slip on? header? Feedback much appreciated... thnx  Grin

Im trying Marc, i just keep woosing out at the bit were you hit the ground. I dont know if its for me? I remember when you were 6 ft tall and now look at what all those impacts have done? Al

My 03 WR250F came with a Big Gun exhaust when I bought it 2nd hand 12 months ago and I don't think it makes that much of a difference, other then it screwing up the jetting.

I remember talking to Pat (Dirtpilot72) one day about his WR250F before he sold it and he swore by a stock WR pipe.  I have heard of some riders sourcing 2nd hand YZ250 exhaust for them which is possibly lighter and apparently (I can't vouch either way) gives more power, but again probably not the best bang for ya buck.

I too did the grey wire which I noticed helped a bit, but honestly the best thing I did was re-gear the bike, dropping from a 14 to 13 tooth sprocket on the front (standard 52 on the rear) on advice from Pat, the bike has better power outta corners and almost never stalls up hills now (but did loose a bit of top end which is a fair compromise)

I've been considering buying one of the PowerNow inserts from Scary Fast Racing to give the bike a bit more low and mid-range poke, I've read a bit about them and have seen no complaints, only good reports so something worth trying, much cheaper then a new exhaust.

Record a Harley, and play that through your Ipod!  Sound is unimportant, and is the primary source of aggravation for dirt bike bashers!

I ride a WRF 250, and can't imagine needing more power out of it.  Perhaps the next step is going to a 450?

Leave the bike as it it.  Enjoy it that way, and help the cause by not making it louder! (sorry if I sound grumpy!)

Spend time working on you riding skills, don't spend money on making the bike faster. Wink

Most of the "real" info I have read about noisy exhausts is they "may" offer a little more top end. Now if you are a "gun expert racer" spending most of the day bouncing off the rev limiter you may get a few seconds off your special test times. For trail riding - save your money and spend it on a riding course plus that old saying is never more true "Less Sound More Ground"
