Title: Excel Rims - WTF!!
Post by: Ken R on January 04, 2014, 04,49:57 AM
Changing rear tyres yesterday and the approx 8yr old excel rim has got cancer.

Inside the wheel well alongside the spokes are 3 areas where the surface has broken down and the tyre levers have caused it to break up and leave sharp edges. In between the inner and outer surfaces is what looks like an aluminium compressed powder.

Has anybody else seen anything like this?

So far touch wood {My Head} the new bike has been awesome but the old 525 used to get flat spots on the rims from rock and lip impacts , the 300 seams to just fly over them step ups and boulders  ;D must have something to do with the less vehicle mass  ;) ;D
