I had one for a bit over twleve months, first road bike ever.  Traded it in on a 640 adventure primarily as I didn't realy like the crouched position that comes with a sports bike type configuration.

I absolutley loved the motor, handling etc but realised I am not really a tarmac/sportbike kind of rider.  Also would be very easy to lose the licence with, nothing to be cruising at 100 and then realsie you still have two gears left.

I reckon they are a realy good looking bike, Iv'e seen others with Yoshi pipes and they sound great.

About the only negative apart from the crouched position is that the engine braking is pretty severe in slow city traffic initially but you very quickly get used to it.  Aparrantly the motor has some kind of butterfly valve that reduces this a lot more than the TL1000 used to do.

Other options are the naked SV1000 or the DL1000, apparently they all use the same motor.  It has been arounf long enough too that they have ironed all the bugs out.  It is priced well usually too (about $13K from memory).

The fore runner to this bike TL1000 had a pretty weak gearbox.

Crankcases couldn't handle much power either, this wouldn't be a concern for just road use though.

I'll keep my eyes open for one.
