Yes mate you can still kick her over , same as a BAT FLATTERY in a car. From what I understand the battery wont charge real well in the bike but it will start and run fine.
I was readin a really intersting story about injected bikes and they say that if an injected bike had a 4WD type snorkle you could ride them completley under water casue its a sealed system ... Dunno if you would wanna try it but would make dewatering kinda easy.

The air still has to get in via the airbox so its height will determine the water level I am thinking. On the fuel side it sounds reasonable.

Whats peoples opinion on the fuel pump with a flat battery? If its just been running and there's still fuel pressure, Well it might go with the residual pressure still in the fuel rail. But with a cold motor and no fuel pressure built up i wish you all the best trying to get 45psi fuel pressure for it to run.  |

Brad, what Zeb has told you about the battery and the fuel injection system is incorrect. The Husky EFI bikes need a working battery to run. There is a warning in the owners manual about not trying to run the bike without the battery connected. Which is the same thing as a battery with an open cell. The EFI needs about 8 volts to run the pump and ECU. The power from the alternator/regulator needs the storage/ filtering effect from the battery to power the ECU. The bike won't run very well or at all with a bad battery. |

So nathan is it the same with a carby feb bike or is it just fuel injected bikes that must have power to run.

Zeb it's only certain types of fuel injected bikes that need power to run, some manufacturers have batteryless fuel injection systems on their bikes.
Your carb fed WR250 will run fine without a battery.

Carby bikes are gravity feed from the tank above the carby, the pressure is only small, and the needle and seat is calibrated to work at that pressure. You can kick start a carby bike without the battery but I wouldn't do it unless I had a capacitor taking the place of the battery so the charging system wasn't damaged. The ignition system on most carby bikes is a separate curcit than the charging/lighting curcuit. |

I haven't had any reliability issues at all. The only issue's i have had are the fork seal problem, and some of the 09 bikes came from the factory with faulty temperature sensors which was fixed under warranty and took all of 1 minute to fix. Other than that it's been 2500 km's of trouble free riding |

I can not comment on the quality or how well a husky rides, but what I can tell you about is KTM, you can buy parts just about anywhere and you have a great choice of suppliers as well as KTM themselfs. I know from some of my fellow members that Huskys are a little hard to find parts for other than genuine, they also have had some issues with fork seals, but I am sure there has been the odd issue with some KTMs as with most bikes. Bite the bullet Brad and buy a Berg 390. Will

Don't worry about the price cos within 2 rides you'll Kick Yourself about Buying something Cheaper than the Real Deal.
