Ive had a short ride on Nath's and thought it was amazing. As his previous bike was the same as my current mount ('07 WR250F) the extra cc's and Efi were great, but had the 250 handling trates. Have since riden with several of them, and the owners love them if they came from the right shop. The others have been having a nightmare with fuel mapping. Al

Does anyone know if you can get a larger tank for one of these TE's?

After riding this bike for the last 4 months let me tell you the thing is absolutely brilliant!!
I thought my wr250 was good, and it was as they are awesome bikes, but the husky just leaves it for dead.
The thing i noticed most when i rode it for the first time was how well it handled and how much better it turned compared to the wr.
The extra 50cc and fuel injection make a huge difference, might sound like a big call, but wait till you ride one. The meat of the bikes power is in the low to mid range which makes it perfect for long hill climbs, you can roll on and off the throttle in third and accelerate all the way up the hill, try that on a 250.
The fuel injection makes the bike harder to stall as the engine hardly ever bogs down and there is no hesitation when you crack the throttle, a real benefit in the tight stuff, where it's exactly like a 250 to ride.
For me this is the perfect bike, the handling of a 250 in the tight stuff and enough power for big hills and to stay with the bigger bikes out in the open.
It's an extremely well thought out bike and a dream to work on, all fasteners are 8mm hex head bolts, you can remove the spark plug without having to remove the fuel tank, not to many 4 strokes that you can do that on, air filter access is quick and easy it takes 1 second to remove the seat and there it is, There's a removable bung in the exhaust, take it out for a bit more power or leave it in if you want your bike quieter, with the best warranty of any manufacturer (2 years parts and labour) you can't go wrong!

Now to the niggles and they are only minor, i got water inside my speedo which stopped it working, that was replaced under warranty no questions asked. One of the nuts that is mounted in the fuel tank that you bolt the radiator shroud to spins inside it's mount so i can't remove the radiator shroud.  this issue will be fixed under warranty as well, they are ordering me a new fuel tank, again no problems with the warranty claim. They aren't the most fuel efficient bikes going around, but economy is improving as the engine loosens up, i was getting about 70k's before hitting reserve, but now i seem to be getting 100k's from one 7.2 lite tank of fuel, depending on conditions and how i ride it of course, but a 12.5 litre fuel tank is available.

So far life aboard the husky is excellent, my only regret is that i didn't get one sooner!

Thanks Nathan I would need to try one to see the handling for myself. Who did you get it from and did you trade in the WR?

I bought my bike from First Class Motorcycles in lilydale, they were fantastic to deal with and never tried to pressure me into anything. I traded my wr, they gave me $7100 for it, i could have sold it privately for more but could not be bothered with all the hassle that goes with it.
