well ill set the scene..

sunday arvo around 2.30, a good friend caslled and said"you wanna go fishing?"...without hesitation im there with bells on..now i just recieved my new water housing for my contourhd and thought ill mount it on a poll and when i catch a fish ill put the camera in and film stuff n things..

well we caught a few garfish and flattys but not realy good footage but on the way in came across somthing worth filming.

this time of year down at my end of port philip bay, there are spider crabs moulting in the hundreds and found a massive patch of them..

That's grouse footage!

Did you have a remote view finder, or was it all hit and miss?

And was your movement just from the boat?

Some of those crabs got a bit fiesty towards the end!

i had the camera on a pole..its in about 4 feet of water.the red/pinkish crabs have just moulted, they are all soft like sponges..the dead crabs are just the moulted shells..i grabbed a freshly moulted crab and lifted it out of the water, it just fell apart on its own..i was in a tender tinny..8ft tinny 3 big lads..hmmm..

the rays(hoovers) were massive..ive dived with them plenty.the 2 big rays are easily over a meter diameter and atleast 35cms thick.. Shocked

Diving with rays is awesome!  They are so graceful, but I feel sorry for them, though.  Could you imagine having your eyes in the top of your head, and your mouth underneath...you'd never know what you were eating!
