So I had the swingarm off my 2001 ktm 300 recently, to have some welding done where I had pretty severe wear from the axle/wheel spacers. Since it was off the bike, I figured what better time to change the PDS bushing, and swingarm bearings.
I'v only had the bike a few months, so I wasn't sure what state I'd find these in. Turns out they were probably original, as when I opened everything up, all the bearings fell out in tiny little mushed up broken peices! Even the bearing cases were worn nearly through!
The PDS bush wasnt in much better condition, I'm surprised at how it moved at all!
Now that the bike is back together (with an inner hub upgrade, fresh rear tyre, and fresh brakes both ends), I'm finding that all my work in setting up the suspension to suit me, is absolutely out the window. Without the added friction of the knackered bearings and bush, the rear shock is now far too soft.

I guess the lesson is not to tune rear suspension without being sure other parts aren't the issuse...

For me its back to the drawing board, maybe a day ride by myself, with many stops to get the thing set up again!

Hope this helps others not to make the same mistake!
