I just got this information today (Passed on to me by a horse riding enthusiast) and I thought it was worth passing onto others. I have only just started riding my DRZ400 in the Toolangi state forest and am alarmed at what DSE are wanting to do. What will this mean to Bike riding and general enjoyment of our forests?
I'd like to copy the full email to someone at amtra but do not know who to send it to. Submissions against the proposal deadline is September 5th so if anyone wishes to voice there concerns they need to do some writing to DSE and very soon.
The DSE want to ban HORSE RIDING, CAMPING, DOG WALKING and even COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY in these areas.
Stevenson Falls, Thomson River, You Yangs, Murrindindi, Deletite, Sylvia Falls, Otway ranges, Cobboboonee, and Tarago and Yarra Tributies. And get this "camping in state forest generally.
They also want to charge for car parking at these areas.
If you want to have the right to use these and other parks, I suggest you start writing letters. The person responsible for the reviews is:
