[ Angry Angry]We need every trail rider regardless who rides in our forest/parks areas to put in a submission to the DSE proposed road and single track closures in the Otway’s. Angry
Your submission can be a simple 1 or 2 page letter objecting to the these proposed road and single track closures or, go to the Dirt Bike World web site and under Victorian Ride Reports and read the Australia Day ride post put in by super duper Cheesy Cheesy. I am certain that a more comprehensive submission could be compiled by visiting the photos and super dupers appraisal of the DSE underhanded tactics. Angry Angry
Other points that could be pursued are.
VEACs recommendations for the Otway’s National and Forest Parks were that there should be no road or track closures.
(1)   Tracks should be maintained rather than closed
(2)   Previous Government inquiries have recommended that track access must be retained and maintained rather than closed
(3)   The DSE web site does not show the proposed track closures just a simple area map
(4)   DSE officers have a map that clearly shows the magnitude of the proposed closures
(5)   The above map is not for general distribution to the public
(6)   Again the DSE open and transparent consultation process is nothing but a sham and the proposed closures are already a done deal.
(7)   A large number of roads and tracks are pre existing logging roads/tracks and should be placed into the current road and track network
(Cool   Far better use should be made of the proposed road and track closures to provide riding loops for various riding abilities
(9)   The closing of (any) tracks creates an environment for danger and conflict between users
For less than a dollar and a short period of time you could make a difference.
Submissions close Monday 2nd March.

To all,  Just keeping up the pressure,

Thanks Peter E for posting this topic we need all the help we can get. After this I expect they will try and move onto the next new Forest Park, Coobbobonee near Portland and re-use the closure signs there.

Phil,

I read your submission and I agree. As a matter of fact we have been thinking in common quite a lot.

Thake a look at the latest VTRN newsletter http://www.vtrn.mototrials.com.au/Retraction09_01.pdf
And also
http://www.vtrn.mototrials.com.au/Submission.pdf
There is a couple of glitches in the PDF version but all the text is there, just a couple of images aren't quite right.
