Um -The first bike I rode by myself was-- someone might be able to help me out here------I think it was a Suzuki,, it had oversized mud type tyres, centrifugal clutch, 80-150cc, I thought I was the ducksnuts ., The first bike I owned and payed for with my own money was a 79 IT 175 (bought that in 1980) man I thought I was good . Ah the memories

Your '79 IT probably was a good bike! Like Sandra, I was a late starter. I didn't have a 'mini-bike' and access to a farm or similar property. My first (real) ride was a '84 ish XR250, which I borrowed from a mate that was in Germany at the time. First expedition was at Mt Dissapointment. Rode like a gimp! Loved every minute of it though. The XR took me all over the Woods point/ Gaffneys Creek area, which is still my favorite riding area. I still ride like a gimp, but now I do it in style!
