Title: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: seano on June 30, 2012, 04,44:51 AM After much deliberation I have decided to get the suspension done on my husky. So last week I rang chads off road suspnsions and had a chat and was happy with the outcome ,so I decided I will take the bike there this week.
As it turned out I was unable to take it to Geelong during the week so I made a call to Chads to see if they were open on weekends ,the answer was YES we open from 9-12 on saturday, ah beuty was my reply i will bring my bike saturday. Got up this morning with family in tow and headed to Geelong and arrived at 10 past 10 this morning only to find Chads closed ??? ??? and neither land line or mobile to be answered ,plus the sign on the door states hours for saturday 9-12.This is a three hour round trip from berwick :'(,so not to happy with chad at all >:( >:( Update refer to post 6 Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: Willbar on June 30, 2012, 07,18:06 AM Take it to my man in seaford great job at 1/2 the price and only around the corner

Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: Serge C on June 30, 2012, 08,20:39 AM Sorry to hear that. I've always found Chad very easy to deal with, albeit he's usually very busy! Hopefully there will be a good reason that he wasn't there, but that won't get you the 3 hours of your life back! Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: nathanstott on June 30, 2012, 08,47:34 AM Go to Krooze Tune in Knox, that's where my 449 will be going in the next few weeks, I had my 310 set up by Chad and he did an awesome job, definitely worth the trip to Geelong, but my only criticism is he sets the bike up with fairly hard suspension, which was fine for my 310 as I love riding that bike hard, but I had to take 4 clicks out of the compression in the forks, to stop me from losing the front end, and I probably didn't need to go up a spring rate in the forks either.
What i've learned is the harder I push my 310 the better the suspension is, and to progress my riding I'm glad Chad set up my bike the way he did, and what he did with the rear shock I cannot fault. Spewin to hear you wasted a day, think about what you want from your bike and riding before taking it to Chad, if it's just trail riding then there's plenty of suspension tuners on our side of town that can do what you want, but if you want a set up that gives you the ability to push the boundries and let you get away with stuff you normally wouldnt then Chads your man. Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: seano on July 10, 2012, 07,56:59 AM Just to follow up on the outcome of this debarcle I rang Chad on the monday an he was very appolagetic ,so I decided to give it a second chance and took it to him that night.
Spent an hour sizing me up and chatting about what he needs to do with the bike to make it suit me. Went back the following satdy to pick it up all good and very happy with the price of the fix, rode it on sundy and could'nt be happier ,So now it is VERY HAPPY CHAD thankyou Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: Serge C on July 10, 2012, 09,03:40 AM That's good news, Seano. My impression of Chad is that he's an honest and reasonable guy, and was surprised that he " let you down" when you dropped your bike off. Blokes like us are his target audience, so he'd be silly to p15s us off! Good luck and enjoy. Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: Frankie-boy on July 10, 2012, 09,47:00 AM Hey Seano, next time you need any suspension work done, give BLS a go I've had mine done by him,ask pommy Matt how it handles, he had a big smile on his face when he rode it at the HCR, I haven't heard any bad things about him & he's a lot closer to you.
I have heard some bad things about Chads, but in all fairness, he can only go by what you tell him...What sort of a rider you are, that goes for all the suspension tuners, no good telling them that you're a world champion when you're not. Good to hear you are happy with Chads work mate. Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: seano on July 10, 2012, 09,58:23 AM Frankie ,Sergie thankyou for your thoughts ;D Ta Seano

Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: Ken R on July 13, 2012, 05,25:33 AM I know you've had the work done now Seanno but if anybody else needs suspension work I'll back up Fatboy and also recommend Seaford.
He works on Bergs and KTMs, and the other stuff, and his costs are very realistic. His CV includes works teams in Europe including Jeff Leisk. All the best from Coober Pedy, blue skys and 22 deg. Been to the Pink Roadhouse at Oodnadatta and are heading for the Alice tomorrow. I would not be happy, I would not have given him a second chance. Title: Re: NOT HAPPY CHAD Post by: dennisd on July 23, 2012, 11,32:09 AM I'm a pretty ordinary and older rider on a WR450 which I thought had good suspension straight from the shop but I was totally amazed on how good it came after Chad's magic. Ihad Chad service the shock and he advised me on what oil level and where to set the clickers for the forks. He certainly assessed me and style of riding I do and I could not be happier with what he did for me and the price was very reasonable. He also transformed my Son Scott's KTM 300 suspension. An incredible improve, emt.
I liked his personal approach to assessing what would work best for you and would recommend him to anyone wanting to improve the handling of thier big. It is also a good thing to support him as he has been a valuable sponsor of our annual HCR for a few years.
