Title: Some good news Post by: Jeff Davey on January 31, 2012, 09,52:49 AM My son had a tale of woe.
He managed to launch his gear bag out of a box trailer on the Princes Hwy somewhwere between Bunyip and Warragul. (As a truckie's son he should know about proper load restraints) He reported the loss to the local Warragul Police but held little hope of ever seeing his gear again. A month or so later while reading a lost and found article in the local paper he saw mention of morotcycle gear. Luck held out and it was his. Now he is reunited with his riding gear and a very happy camper. Thanks to the kind and decent people who are prepared to put the effort into returning people's property. As they say in the movies, "pass it on". Title: Re: Some good news Post by: Serge C on January 31, 2012, 10,45:44 AM As you say, good to know there are still some decent folk in the world. Congratulations on finding some! Title: Re: Some good news Post by: Ken R on January 31, 2012, 10,16:11 PM It's true, so do not despair, there is way more good than bad.
I have lost a wallet twice and twice they were returned. Title: Re: Some good news Post by: Frankie-boy on January 31, 2012, 11,12:09 PM You must be a very lucky fella Ken,I've never lost my wallet but if I did, I'm sure I wouldn't be getting it back, maybe it was because you had no money in it & they felt sorry for ya, & that's why you got it back ;D
Just kidding ;D Great news Jeff, your son must be stoked, I know I would be if it happened to me. Title: Re: Some good news Post by: Ken R on February 02, 2012, 04,09:40 AM Funny you should mention money Frankie-Boy -
The first one I lost was delivered to the front door by a young-un with his Mother sitting out in the car. I was so gratefull I slung the kid $5 with thanks. Don't sneer at $5 back then it was equivalent to $500 in todays moola. The second one came back via the Police Station but the money cupboard she was bare. Still gratefull though but the young Police wench didn't want to come out for a drink. Can't win em all!! |
