Hi guys, Im new to the hole bike club thing and I was wanting to go on the cobaw ride in the afternoon of the 19th Sept. I have done a few rides around taradale and down to Labertouche but the rides are becoming few and far between as the guys iv been riding with are now working most weekends, i live in Narre Warren but head up to Taradale a fare bit so cobaw sounds good to me. Is there any spares or tools that I should buy that you guys like everyone to carry.

G'day Darren,I would suggest a spare front tube, spark plug, basic bicycle punture repair kit and a pump, clutch & brake lever and some basic tools most other things can be borrowed, generally on a level one ride you will get a lot support you will be surprised by how many riders will stop to help a broken down bike. But a well prepared bike is a great starting point

A spare front brake and clutch lever to suit your own bike is all you really need for the Cobaw ride. The rest is usually carried amongst others on the ride.

A spare front and rear tube is good, but don't need to carry it with you - just have one there in case you need to replace one supplied on the trail.

Once you start on level 2 rides then you would be expected to start getting a tool kit together.  Until then it is better to see what others dig out to see what works and what doesn't.

Regards,

Mat.

hi Dexter and Darren
Just a tip I got from a amtra member ,When you next time pull apart your bike for cleaning ,those are the tools you may need to bring along. Or try and work on your bike with the tools you are going to bring and that may give you a fair idea what to bring.
"Bring water and snacks too."
