I sooked out this weekend, and opted to leave the bike in the shed.  I didn't fancy another wet weekend at Abbeyard.  I told Pete I would come up to the 'Love Shack' at Eildon and have dinner and a few adult beverages with him.  We watched the rain fall all afternoon, and wondered what the rest of the club was up to.

So,

How did you all spend the wettest Saturday we've ever had?

I didn't sook out this Weekend, and had a great time riding, and invited a good friend of mine to join me at the pub and a Sleep over at the Love Shack (Taj Mahal). I think you may know him Serge, he's a good bloke but a bit short for me.

I had Friday off to go to Abbeyard. It was a beautiful day up there. Pity I could not stay so what did I do Saturday, went to work to make up for the Friday I lost doing club business.
I am guessing it was a little wet at Abbeyard Saturday with a reported 150mm at Mt Buffalo.

Well Steve and I had planned to do a morning ride at Noojee tomorrow but if my backyard is flooded, then I'm guessing Noojee is going to be worse so wimping it out and waiting for a finer day.  I don't get to ride as often as I like so when I do, I don't want it to be fishing for the bike out of bog holes in Neerim that's for sure.

For some reason everyone has decided to have birthdays this weekend with Sat, Sun and Mon nights being dragged off for birthday gatherings and a Cup Day drinks/BBQ on Tuesday.  Some quality time with the TV would be nice but not going to happen.

Have had quite a few thoughts for the poor soles up at Abbeyard, fingers crossed they're not flooded out.  Otherwise everyone keep safe on the roads.  DanJ

Should have come to Cheynes Bridge hardly any rain, ground was so hard bent a tent peg putting up the pit tent. Will

I went to Abbeyard, Marls, Fred and I hit the Hume at about 4.30 am. I have never seen so much rain in my life!! We didn't even get the bike of the trailers, came home on Sun.  Must admit had the best pizza ever on the Sat night. Thanks to Fred and Marls for the great company Smiley

Myself and a couple of mates decided to try the local area on Tuesday thinking it may be a little drier. WRONG. We unloaded the bikes on Mt Bride road(back of Wesburn) and proceded down Burn tk around the back of Mt Bride. Missed my turn off and went all the way to Summer Spur Tk. This would be a pretty good 1.5 level ride in the dry but was full of rutted soaked bog holes in the wet (more like level 2+)with a couple of beginners in tow it turned out to be some of the longest 35km I've done!! The boys (and myself) were wrecked but the time we got to black sands rd. As we came out onto the main rd the sun finally came out for the 15min rd back to the cars. A tough day in the mud but as summer comes along and things dry out i would recommend a ride in this area as there is a few steep and challenging narrow trails up off Summer Spur track. Overall it was worth getting out for a ride. Smiley

We only had about 125mm at Abbeyard over the weekend. About 110mm fall from mid Saturday till early Monday morning, clear for most of the day, then a 15mm 1/2Hr burst late Monday just before the four day guys arrived. The 15mm burst was the heaviest rain for the weekend.
