My experience of 2 stroke engines is limited to my Victa lawn mower.

My Suzuki parts man recommends Castrol TTS oil at a mix of 30:1
My Suzuki manual recommends oil mix of 25:1

I'm so confused!

Opinions.....!

Castrol TTS at 40:1 would be fine. I ran my old PE and IT (and chain saws, brush cutters, generator and 4 stroke Honda mower)on that ratio and never had a problem.
I am now using 50:1 in everthing with the same oil.

No worries running 30:1 with Castrol TTS.

I run my 300 on 60:1 with Motul 800

I'm guessing that the different ratios will depend on whether you are running a mineral-based oil or a synthetic-based oil (which TTS is).

Being an air-cooled engine, the recommendation of 30:1 for the TTS sounds about right, but I probably wouldn't go any leaner than 32:1 myself.

40 to 1 is right on the money like robbo i run all my toys at 40 to 1 that includes my vintage bikes (2 czs, bultaco and a 1979 pe 175) and have never had any problems.
dont confuse the issue  Huh Huh Huh use a good brand of synthetic oil made for 2 strokes.

I run 20 to 1. Its to produce a smoke screen to psyche out the opposition.

Ran my PE250B on TTS for 13 years and my KDX200 for 7 years both at 30:1.

Sold the PE on it's second piston, 4th set of rings, and the KDX on original piston 3rd set rings.

And they have to smoke a bit, it's tradition!! and it's also a bit of insurance - yes I did put the oil in.
