Road and Traffic Operations are now in full swing; please drive carefully and safely for your own sake and that of your families. If you intend to ride a trail bike up here please be aware of the dangers and your obligations. We do not want to have to attend death messages with your families this Christmas and it is up to you to get home safe.

The New Year will bring its own potential problems for us all; there will be drinking so I remind you all to enjoy yourselves in a manner that allows others to also enjoy their celebrations and let all be safe. Once again Drink Driving will be targeted and no mercy shown, police will be out in force over this period and will be doing the best we can to minimize fatalities on the roads.

We will also be looking closely at any fires being lit in the open and there will be zero tolerance this year if regulations are not adhered to.

Track Report;
Webber Spur track is badly in need of repair, some parts have become extremely dangerous to traverse due to track subsidence and although it has not been closed great care should be taken; there are no plans to repair it in the near future. Charles Road has a few nasty trees across it at the moment that require caution to get around, especially up towards Ryan’s Spur track. I would like to remind riders and 4wd’s that travelling on the Strategic Fire Breaks is prohibited and you will be prosecuted if detected. Mt. Selma Road has had a grading and is quite good when dry; try not to rut it up this year with those big tyres. Jamieson Licola Road is open but there are a few minor trees across the road in parts so be aware. Fiddlers Green track is good however there has been a report that someone was trying to remove artefacts from the old mine, please keep a look out for thieves. Recently a driver had to leave his broken down vehicle at Webber Creek in November, unfortunately someone decided to strip his vehicle before he could get back to recover it. This is no way to treat fellow travellers in the bush and we would appreciate any information on this theft so that we may pursue the thieves. Any one with any information may detail it to Crime Stoppers

Have a merry & safe Christmas and I hope the New Year brings you all that you hope for.
