Hi guys, I am new to this whole trailriding game and am looking forward at heading out for a ride with you guys soon. I have bought a new KLX450R a few weeks ago and have had it out for a few rides and loving it. Does anyone know of any problems with the KLX that I should keep an eye out for, any feed back would be great.

G'day Darren
Most new bikes these days are good and if not the warranty should fix it. How much warranty do you have? Just keep an eye on all the usual things like the oil and coolant level as she settles in. Make sure the air filter is clean and correctly oiled plus sealed to the inlet on installation. The spoke tension will need to be checked after a couple of rides plus run around the nuts and bolts to make sure there are no loose ones. After that it's yours to wear out and enjoy.

Thanks, I have done most of that and I bought the Twin Air filter cleaner kit. It goes back to the dealer for a once over around the 20 hour mark and It has a 3 month warranty on it so im trying to find everything i can now before it runs out. Thanks heaps

Popular bike these days green is looking good.
What I have read the first mods are lightweight aftermarket exhaust, fit bashplate and firmer suspension for riders over 80Kg's.
Two most vulnerable arears are the long and low-slung exhaust header pipe and the fuel tap which sits behind the left hand radiator. Take care of these area's in a crash.
Its free to look at the suspension setup for yourself. Go over the bike to determine where all the clickers are set and write them down as a starting point to wo work from. Most of the time they are set mid setting, although some times the odd one is all the way in or out from the factory.

Thanks Brad, I had suspenion done at the dealer when picking the bike up but feel it may be a bit stiff. I ll have a look at it on my next ride, I hade the bashplate fitted already but im just starting to look at what pipe to put on.

 I was very impressed with the KLX450 I rode a while ago.
Excellent engine and good ergos. I haven't heard of any problems with the bike and I've been keeping an ear out for them as it was such a good thing straight off.
I don't think a pipe is required for it as the motor has plenty in it as is, the best way to get a bike to go faster is to work on the rider Wink.
