Why was the club rego thread locked?
Amtra was given the contact details of somebody that deals with what we are wanting to do on a regular basis, why wouldn't we embrace that and use that knowledge to our advantage, or is input from people that have experience in things that we are trying to do  not wanted? Free debate about something is how we get the best outcomes, why lock it? It''s not a critical issue like the website problem we have.
If it takes 3 to 4 months or more then who cares, lets have the debate, get it right and do it once.
My two cents!

Pat has been given the task by the committee to organise the club rego for the club if it is possible AMTRA  to get it.
Quite a few members know Peter Drakeford.
There is no need for any more debate.  I am sure Pat will report to the club when he has something  useful to report.
I locked the previous thread.  With the web site upgrade coming soon and  a new  version of the forum software on the agenda we dont need bloated  threads and posssibly we might need to clean out alot of the old stuff.

Yeah i saw that, so does that mean any member can ask for any thread to be closed, and it will be done?

Anyone can report a post or request a topic locked. It goes to all the moderators. If the request is warranted the action gets taken, but all moderators see it and can discuss among themselves if it should be lifted.

Going way off topic or starting to speculate can mean a thread had run its course and gets stopped. All the info is still there for everyone to see.

I am also keen for the club reg as I have a bike I would like to put on it. Find out what we can get and then work out how to apply it in the interests of our members. Hence the reference to horse and then cart.

I did ask for it to be locked. The opening post asked if we were doing something about, yes we are.

So where are we at with this club reg, as it's been a while since it's been talked about here?

I've got a car thats rego is due mid next month.

It would be very nice not to pay $712.10 to Vicroads for full reg and pay less than $100 for club reg for it.

So when do we expect the club to this facility?

As far as I know, all required signatures have been obtained from the club and the application is in with Vic Roads. So now we are waiting on them.
