Title: Club rego? Post by: flipper on December 08, 2012, 09,54:55 AM There was talk of Pat looking into allowing AMTRA to do club rego - did anything come of it?
Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: Ian Robinson on December 08, 2012, 10,15:30 AM Nothing has happened yet. Hopefully it will happen early in the new year.
Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: flipper on December 08, 2012, 10,47:51 AM Thanks - fingers crossed it works out!
Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: Serge C on December 08, 2012, 10,59:44 AM The process of getting AMTRA into the scheme is not that difficult.
We just have to 'prove' to VicRoads that we are a legitimate body, capable of administrating the scheme. Pat has done some groundwork, and should have some results early in the new year. Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: Dirtpilot72 on December 09, 2012, 01,52:46 AM I have made some progress on it. I need to submit some documents to Vic Roads and go from there. I cannot see any reason why we would not be able to get it.

Post by: Mick on December 09, 2012, 11,46:07 PM Will this also apply to any road bikes AMTRA members own.
Cheers Mick. Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: Serge C on December 09, 2012, 11,51:53 PM Will this also apply to any road bikes AMTRA members own. Cheers Mick. Yes, I believe so, but they may be subject to a full roadworthy inspection first. Title: Re: Club rego? Yes, I believe so, but they may be subject to a full roadworthy inspection first. O ok well I think the CSC Club has a member that does the inspection on bikes and then signs off on that, someone did tell me cars need a RWC but the bikes not so, maybe something to look into, I am looking at getting a dirt bike and a road bike club regoed so am keen to hear how all this turns out then I will be looking at becoming a member of a club that offers this process, AMTRA would suite my riding dirt bikes more than a scramble club as I dont own a scramble bike, I feel it would be rude of me to become a member of a scramble club just to get my road bike and old trail bike club regoed, with AMTRA though I could go on the old dirt bike rides. Cheers Mick. Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: nathanstott on December 10, 2012, 10,49:27 AM Will this also apply to any road bikes AMTRA members own. Cheers Mick. Post by: Mick on December 10, 2012, 10,52:32 AM Thought I covered that in the last post nathanstott, I am interested in this process at AMTRA, if it works out well for what I like doing then I would become a member :) If welcomed that is ???
Cheers Mick. Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: Serge C on December 10, 2012, 11,26:57 AM Oh, I guess we'll put up with you! ;) Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: Dirtpilot72 on December 10, 2012, 12,14:52 PM You will need to be a member and to maintain the permit you need to maintain membership. If membership lapses the club has to report it and the permit will be cancelled. It is a permit scheme, not full on rego.
The cars thing may be difficult to get as we are a bike club. As far as RWC i am sure its up to the clubs themselves if they require them. Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: David Smith on December 11, 2012, 01,43:13 AM Most clubs running the club reg scheme ask for a current RWC because,
[1] It shows that the vechical is in a rwc state when the permit was issued. [2] The person issueing the permit probly only has do it yourself mechanical skills and no actual qualification in the trade. [3] If the poo hits the fan because someones old peice of poo (sorry, loverly restored vechical ;) ) kills someone, at least you can stand up in court and show a copy of the rwc and photos of the vechical when you gave it the reg permit thingy.. Who becomes responsable for the plate ect? is it the person issueing it or dose it fall back on the club? If its back on the club do we need to check if our insurance covers this? Im not against it i just know people that abuse the use of club reg in their club. Title: Re: Club rego? Mick or Mat Does that mean as MA members we do not need to bother about doin it in AMTRA and we could just do it through the MA ?If you would like to talk to Peter Drakeford for advise on this matter you can reach him on Peter Drakeford Event Organiser - HBBB Motorcycling Australia Tel: (03) 9684 0500 Mob: 0422 299 003 Title: Re: Club rego? Post by: Mick on December 11, 2012, 05,47:01 AM No you need to be a member of a club and if that club does club rego then you do it all through the club it is the only way, I just know that Peter Drakeford is or was on the commity of the CSC club who happens to also work at MA and he was the one always doing the inspections for the CSC club.
I just thought it might help the guys at AMTRA that are running things to have a chat with Peter as he might be able to advice a bit. Cheers Mick. Title: Re: Club rego?
