27KM NE MT BULLER - CATHERINE STATION RAZOR TRACK
Last Updated: 17/02/13 04:06:00 PM
Fire Agency District:OVENS
Name:CATHERINE STATION RAZOR TRACK
Type:BUSHFIRE
Size:76.00 HA.
Status:GOING
Resources:42

The fire south of the property is three times the size it was last time there was an update.

But they are hitting it with 42 resources so maybe they will get on top of it.

The start of Razor track is about 13 km down the road from our property, Catherine station is about 7 km down the road from the property.
From the name of the fire I'd guess that the fire is somewhere between those points.

CATHERINE STATION RAZOR TRACK  Fire is now showing up on the Sentinal webpage.

http://sentinel.ga.gov.au/acres/sentinel/index.shtml

It's actually further away from the property at about 13.4 km as the crow flies.

Its inside the loop made of Razor and West Buffalo Track and most of the fire is heading to the South East away from the property. A bit of rain would help but there is none coming in the next few days.

I think they will be turning Razor into a Super Hwy with the dozers Tongue

Thanks for the updates, Tim.

As club members, we are looking at two issues.

1. We hope and pray the property escapes un-scathed from the current fires.

2. We are mindful of the impact the fires may (or may not) have on the High Country Ride.

Yes Tim i see what your saying , we had a fire at Kangaroo Ground over Christmas coming from the South we always thought if one came it would come from the North. But they hit it hard and stopped it within about a k from our joint. But lets all try and stay positive about Abbeyard if it gets cancelled we will hold a private one and more chance of winning the bike.   Grin

Well, if it all gets too hairy over there, you, Jo and the boys can head over here.  No fires, but plenty of smoke haze please!

We hosted some friends from Kangaroo Ground a couple of weeks ago, when fire threatened their place, so you're welcome too!

Alls Well up here in Epping!!

Man what a Arvo, Choppers, Cop Cars, Tv Crews, 5 Zillion CFA Trucks and Traffic Bedlam. what an eventful Time.
I got on top of my Garage and took some Happy Snaps and watch the Spectacular Air Show, the Tv Choppers sit way up high while the Water Bomber Choppers fly in and around the Fire.

It's only grown to 400 Ha from 330 Ha yesterday, given the day that yesterday was that's good news.

Also the number of resources has dropped by 10, another  sign.

Looking at Sentinal it has burnt to Razor, propably a burn off.

It's grown another 50 Ha, looking at the Sentinal Hotspots website it looks a lot bigger than 450Ha.
