Last weekends Vinduro (Vintage Enduro) held at Toolagi attracted 60 odd entrants and was second such event held this year. Competing all kinds of bikes such as IT Yamaha's, PE Suzuki's, Bultaco's, Husky's, KTM's, and even a Rokon auto riders were getting around the very challangeing loop in 30+ minutes. Being held on a private property so rego was not an issue being an MA event inurance was covered in the entry fee. Peter Ellard had the big WR Husky there and Andy Parker had a Beautifully restored Bultaco Alpina, a bike once very popular with AMTRA members during the 1970's. Check out the pics.

Nice pictures Wade. I have been looking for an Ossa Super Pioneer for ages to restore.

Some great looking bikes here, oh the memories. Is the bottom engine mount bolt missing on Bultaco 12B, has the vibration killed it or was it left out to lessen the vibration transmission to the rider?

ah to ride a bike with no electric leg, tickle the carburettor to start(sometimes) cold in the morning, 6 and 4  inches of suspension, brakes that may only impede your progress for a short distance and no bottom end power to speak of these are some of the joys of riding a 1973 wr husky in the vinduro at castella.
the loop was about 11k around some of the young and fit were getting around in about 20minutes i think the average bodies were getting around in about 35-40minutes.
most times (about 10k) 1st and 2nd gear was the go and a couple of short sections of 5th gear and that was the loop.
we mnanaged 2 loops before the 35 year old motoplat ignition called it quits.
but all in all a great day can't wait for the next one.

Ian, Ossa's are like hens teeth unfortunately there was one at the event but this was a trials bike. There were some rare bikes there including the Rokon auto I mentioned also ATK, Monty H6 and Can Am Qualifier. Would love to see a Super Pioneer to complete the picture. You possibly might get one from the USA. Ken that bracket on the Frontera is for a center stand which most people including me get rid of.

attracted 60 odd entrants

Any normal entrants?

I still get the joy of no electric leg everytime I ride.

I'd like to get hold of an IT200, but not many of those left around either.

I remember the Maico's from the conical hubs they had, just different to the hubs on the other bikes around.

How old does a bike need to be to qualify for Vinduro?
