After putting up with an absolute piece of sh1t of a lift stand for years, the inevitable finally happened and the 449 fell off the raised stand while the rear wheel was out of the bike!
I won't go into how much fun i had getting the rear wheelless 449 back up onto the stand, but it wasn't easy
This is the offending stand it's a DRC HC2
The plate the bike sits on is very wobbly and when the bike is raised the bike is on a fair lean to the left. It was only a matter of time till a bike fell off the stand, and i should have binned it years ago, but i didn't. Last friday afternoons events saw that absolute piece of snot go in the bin.
Anyone thinking of buying one of these bits of sh1t, do so at your own peril.
So now i need a new stand, one that my bike cant fall off of.
Yesterday i went on ebay and bought this stand.
This stand is the ducks nuts!!! Build quality is great it has a 135 kg rating so you cant use this stand with 2012/13 WR 450's
( you people need to get a crane in to lift your bike )
the hydraulic action is nice and smooth and it's easy to pump up to raise the bike and it has a locking bar, shown in the last photo so that if the hydraulics fail the bike wont fall down.
The plate the bike sits on is HUGE and with the foot pegs secured to the u bolts there is absolutely no way the bike can fall off the stand!!
So now theres no more rushing while working on my bikes for fear of the bike falling, i can leave the bike on there for days without worry, and if it's in my way i can just wheel it out of the way as it's on locking castor wheels.
I got it from 4enduro.com ordered Monday morning and it was on my doorstep Tuesday afternoon!!! now that's service!! and it was $200 delivered.
I am very happy with this stand and my nightmare with that other heap of sh1t is now over!
