After putting up with an absolute piece of sh1t of a lift stand for years, the inevitable finally happened and the 449 fell off the raised stand while the rear wheel was out of the bike!  Angry Angry
I won't go into how much fun i had getting the rear wheelless 449 back up onto the stand, but it wasn't easy  Shocked

This is the offending stand it's a DRC HC2

The plate the bike sits on is very wobbly and when the bike is raised the bike is on a fair lean to the left. It was only a matter of time till a bike fell off the stand, and i should have binned it years ago, but i didn't. Last friday afternoons events saw that absolute piece of snot go in the bin.
Anyone thinking of buying one of these bits of sh1t, do so at your own peril.

So now i need a new stand, one that my bike cant fall off of.
Yesterday i went on ebay and bought this stand.

This stand is the ducks nuts!!! Build quality is great it has a 135 kg rating so you cant use this stand with 2012/13 WR 450's  Grin ( you people need to get a crane in to lift your bike )   Tongue
the hydraulic action is nice and smooth and it's easy to pump up to raise the bike and it has a locking bar, shown in the last photo so that if the hydraulics fail the bike wont fall down.
The plate the bike sits on is HUGE and with the foot pegs secured to the u bolts there is absolutely no way the bike can fall off the stand!!
So now theres no more rushing while working on my bikes for fear of the bike falling, i can leave the bike on there for days without worry, and if it's in my way i can just wheel it out of the way as it's on locking castor wheels.
I got it from 4enduro.com ordered Monday morning and it was on my doorstep Tuesday afternoon!!! now that's service!! and it was $200 delivered.
I am very happy with this stand and my nightmare with that other heap of sh1t is now over!  Grin Grin

I like the look of the locking U-bolts through the foot pegs.

Does it seem 'wobbly' on the wheels at full height?

There is a little bit of movement at full height which is to be expected, but it is very stable

Do it Rod I doubt you'd be disappointed with it.
The only downside is that it's a bit to tall to slide underneath the bike. You actually have to lift the bike up onto it, which really isn't that much of a problem.

2 weeks ago Aldi had bike stands for $40.

An off road one or a road bike one. My mate in Warwick got one for his roadie. Two seperate roll on race stands, one for the front and one for the rear. Fully adjustable with  attachments for the axles, or the swing arm, or a multi purpose one. Brilliant!

Didn't see an off road one, all sold out. BUGGER

Keep an eye on Aldi.

Care to elaborate on the DANGER  !!!
When I move the bike around while the stand is as low as possible I can't see any problems.

Apologies for the huge photos
I have the same lifter as your old one Nath and have had more than a few near misses, seam to be a great designed stand with the gas strut and the adjustable height but yes they lean left for some unknown reason and always seams like a juggling act to get the bike position right on it.

Get rid of the thing before your bike falls off it! After getting the new stand today why I didn't change it years ago is a mystery to me

The Kwaka isn't my bike it's the mrs!
The Kato is a 640 Adventure, the only KTM I've ever lusted after, I found a mint one a few years ago and had to have it. They are an awesome machine for adventure riding, it goes anywhere, on a 2 week trip with Angus I took that thing fully loaded with luggage where some people would be scared to take their enduro bike, and it loved it!

I have a very similar stand but I got it without the wheels.

The stand I have does not tilt when the lift is a full height. The lock down bolts are great they keep the bike very steady.

I got mine from AMX can not rember the actual cost but it was well under $200.
