Hi all
soon I will have to do my licence test and was wondering where is the best place to do it?
I did my learners at deca but I was wondering if any of you had any recomendations or experiences you could share.
I live in berwick so I know there are a couple of places in dandy as well.

There is motorcycle motion in Cheltenham, http://www.motorcyclemotion.com.au/index.shtml which got a good write up in Motorcycle Trader.

If you were happy with DECA for the learners then no reason to change for the licence.

I did mine in cheltenham and they were great and understood the difference in riding style etc from riding in the bush compared to the road

I did mine at H.A.R.T. ( Honda Australia Rider Training).

I assume they're still around.  I remember it being a comprehensive course, although I kept getting in trouble cos I only used two fingers on the brake lever!

H.a.r.t as well. Good course, same problem as Sergie. And the reminder when doing the emergency counter steer, that you dirt bike barstards don't lie the bike over till the exhaust hits the ground!

That's only because you used two fingers from your left hand on the brake lever.

HART are at Kilsyth, Somerton and Tullarmarine.

I did a Stay Upright course a few years back which was quite good, but it was not a licence course.

My test was at Kilsyth, the examiner said go out onto the road and get up to 80 k/mh as quickly as possible. I asked if I had to get to 80, as that was a bit of an ask for the postie bike I was using. The R1 would be easier for that, don't have to get out of first gear.

I did mine at Sandown Race Course, it was a Monday morning and i was the only one going for my license that day.
The instructor said to me just ride around these cones, do some emergency stops and come and see me in twenty minutes because i have paper work to do in my office.
I did what he said and went and saw him after twenty minutes and he handed me my score sheet, i got 100%.
He then said to me he got to go home for the day after he'd finished all the licensing tests, i had the day off as well aand why he wasted twenty minutes of both our time was a mystery to me!!

Theres one in Carrum Downs on Thompsons Rd, backed by Yamaha I think.

I got mine in Birmingham so long ago I can't remember a thing. But I do remember teaching the missus to ride her DT250 before her test in Melbourne.

We were on a road in a new industrial estate with some bushes down the side of the road for emergency brake training. Helen being a long time car driver was struggling with the front brake thing.

OK sez I after some coaching, I'm going to toss this little cardboard box out in front of you from the bushes as you ride past about 50kmh, and I want to see those front forks diving. Here she comes - toss - bumm bumm as she rides straight over it with the back brake locking.

Hmmm - chucks a U turn and comes back to me looking down at the flat box. "How is he" she says, I nearly pissed myself laughing.

A little later She got the licence first go.

Hi all thanks for you feedback. I did my licence test at deca today and passed. Turns out the licence test is easier then the learner permit test. I would recommend deca to anyone thinking of doing the test/course. Now I just need to start riding more!!!!
