Hello Stuart,

You can get recross remoulds pretty cheap but I can't say I've heard to many positive reports.

Your best bet is to buy a good quality tyre I like the Dunlop 952, but the Bridgestone 404 is the probably the most popular in the club at the moment.

I can normally talk the sales guy down 10-20% particularly if you are going to fit them yourself.

Good luck let us know if you find a cheap source!!

Depends where you are, as cost to get them may make it more expensive.

Riders Edge support AMTRA and will offer a discount if you ask.

Same goes for Alpine Motorcycles in Myrtleford.

If you want cheap there are Duro 18" rears from Ballards for $80 each plus postage (around $12.50 to Mel, but ask).

AMX also have cheap tyres available every now and then and normal priced M404 Bridgestones.

I have tried a Recross remould rear intermediate and was reasonably happy with it.

Best thing is to just ask for a discount, most shops will give one and unless you are really desperate for a tyre you can always try the next shop.

All of these will be to fit yourself.

Thanks a lot guys, I've thought about the remoulds but I'm not sure. They have them on ebay for $85, not too bad. I'm in Patterson Lakes and have met the bloke for Riders Edge, is it Robin ? Fat Boy I'll give you a call as we r going to Buchan for Easter.
Cheers,
Stuart.

I got some old tyres to give away for FREE, they are all totally Knackered and only good for Burnouts. If you have an interest in collecting old tyres, then please pop around and take them to a good home!!!

I once sold an old tyre on Ebay, it's amazing what people will buy!

I have a mix of about 10 old tyres that you can have for free!!

The retreads can be hard work to fit and try to get one with a Michelin or Pirelli carcass.

Thanks guys ! Went with the 404's on the 450. Did 400ks at Buchan at Easter and it stood up. I borrowed a tool from a work mate and its like a soldering iron that cuts the driving edge on the knobby and gives it an extra few rides. Worked for me. Oh, I went to Byners Suzuki in Seaford and they gave me 20% discount on the rear and a set of sprockets and free fit. Peter R, are those fun bags on the left free to a good home as well ? Chris M,  where do you live and are any capable of a second life with this tool I have ?
