Hi Guys,
Thanks Mick for giving me the heads up about the forum, great stuff mate!
Stockmans Rally has been running for over 20 years at Big River State Forest just East of Lake Mountain near Marysville, originally it was run as a support ride for the "Stockmans" Victorian enduro title. Originally the Rally would follow the same course as the enduro but avoided the special stages that the racers would tear up. It gave punters a great ride, fully arrowed, with sweep riders and fuel dumps to complete the entire course. In the mid 90s 300 riders would turn up for the non-competative rally and out-number the racers by 2 to 1!
In the early 2000`s motorbike clubs stopped running trailbike rallys due to all the drama with the insurance companies going bust and massive insurance increases. In 2007 Otway Off-Road in conjunction with the MCRCV brought back Stockmans rally once again, and this year will be just like the Stockmans of old! We are expecting around 300 riders to enter this year for a ripper event, there`s a 70-90km loop with big hills, rocks, river crossings, and generally superb high country riding. There will be give-away prizes from KTM, Otway Off-Road, Scott, Braking and some money from entries will be donated to Kids for Cancer and the Marysville CFA.
Entries close Monday the 12th of October, so get in quick for a great ride! Camping is free, there will be canteen, hot food at the event.
See you there!
