Righty oh, the epic adventures of getting gear continues.
I have successfully ordered some gear (a while ago) off the net at great prices.  Pity the gloves are a size too small.  The top fits great, but probably not over armour! Ah the things you learn.  But not to be deterred I tried on some boots and armour on at a few shops and found what fits.  Then comes the question... do I shop local and get back up or do I shop on line, save money and get a better product?  Well to keep things on budget I ordered some Gaerne boots and a Fox titan top from riders discount in McAmerica.  Watch these pages for some cheap gear if it doesn't fit...
Bike wise there has been a few bargains on e bay of all places.  Virtually brand new DRZ for 6k, but again the budget it set lower than that, so one that is a lil older with a few scratches was bought, it also has all the "bike armour" fitted which is a fair cost saving.  And as a new rider the few scratches the bike does have will be the least of its problems!
So its a bit of a wait for the gear to come in but with Christmas around the corner riding time would be rare any way.  Oh, I pick up the slighlty used/scratched DRZ400 this Sunday.

Well the grand import plan was going oh so well until I received an e mail that the gear in USA is back ordered until 20th January. Sad
Bugger that, canceled the lot, went to the local shop and bought from there.  will have it in next week.  The boots and armour will set me back an extra $95 AUD.  BUT I will build a rapport with the local guy and be able to get a bit of a discount on future items, so it probably works out better in the long run.

Good thinking, always helps to have someone local as a backup.. I have two friends with motorcycle stores and a KTM dealer just a few miles from home. I try to spend with all of them to some extent. If I get stuck and need something at the last moment I can usually find that one of them can help me out.  Always keep your eyes open for bargains of course, if you are saving big bucks then buy it wherever.
