I'm going camping at Huggetts Crossing between Christmas & new year, great place for camping, swimming, riding,bush walking.
I know a great 60 k/m loop with plenty off river crossings, up & down hills nothing to hard, so if ya want to join a grumpy old bloke, let me know.


ps I almost forgot, there will be plenty of drinking ;D

I'm driving up to QLD!

Haven't done that since I was 18, and went to Harvey Bay with Johnny B in an MG.

Leaving on the 28th of December, with my missus, my 16 year old (who got her learners on Friday), and one of her friends.  Taking 3 days to get to Mooloolaba, via Brisbane to collect my 19 year old (whose flying up).

8 days there at my cousins place (they will be overseas), then back via Sydney to see the Harry Potter exhibition.

Looking forward to the drive.  Territory will be decked out with i-pads, i-pods, lap tops, sat-nav, dvd's and fridge.  3 drivers on the way up, 4 on the way back....

I would like to come on ya ride mate, but I've been camping at Huggetts Crossing at Xmas time,2 years running now, it's good to get away from the rat race.

At this stage I should be right for early new year if ya can wait will b working till around the 29th , yes you know I like camping nothing like a little hardening up need tobe home for the 3rd as going 2 hospital on the 4th now

Sounds like we will get along just fine ;D when are ya planing on going? I usually go there on boxing day & come back on new years eve, but if Will is coming on the 29th for a couple of days I'll stay a bit longer

oh were very orange bike friendly...as a matter of fact we have one in the shed...we will be heading home on the tuesday arvo...the mrs has to work....someones gotta bring home the bacon..might as well be her :)

Hi mate, when I drove in there last year there was no problem for a 2 wheel drive to get to the camping spot, I don't know what condition it's like now, I'm guessing it will be ok, it's a very popular spot so I reckon they will keep the road in good nick for 2 wheels drives to get in there, are ya thinking of coming mate, it'll be great if you are.

Yes, thinking about it. We normally use a weekender near Pearsons Point but dont know if thats available. I just remember the last km into Huggets is a little steep for a sedan and if its wet I may be in trouble.

That bit ya talking about Lefty is the steepest part, I've seen cars drive out of there in the dry, but if it's wet, I'm sure there will be ppl there with 4x4's that will tow ya out  it'll be great if you're coming mate.
