Title: Newbie - Bendigo North West Region
Post by: Cameron on October 12, 2009, 10,24:59 AM
Hi Team.

Just landed in Bendigo and want to trail ride within 200km radius of Bendigo.

What are my next steps?

What is the GO with riding in the bush in relation to registration?

If I have my bike rec registered only, what ar emy restrictions?

Cameron

Hi Cameron and welcome to the wonderful world of AMTRA.
Here you can organise yourself a ride, and the closest to Bendigo would be Daylesford/Glenlyn or Cobaw rides, check the calendar for all the details.
The next closest ride date:Cobaw 24 oct.
Eildon Beginner training ride: Eildon 28th November.
Dr Brad will tell you about all the other things you want too know.

Hi Cameron,

You will need at least rec reg to ride other than private property and club motocross tracks. Note that police and DSE checks for registration are likely to be increasing over the next few months.

Rec reg essentially means no sealed roads and no towns, although there are few dirt roads where Rec reg is excluded.

Most rides will say whether rec reg or full reg is required. If it doesn't then ask the ride leader.

Cobaw ride in a few weeks would be a good one to start with, as it will help you find where you are in relation to the levels we set. Plus it is nice and close to Bendigo. You are welcome as a visitor to the Cobaw ride.

Regards

Mat.
