Title: new rider here... Post by: timmey on July 29, 2009, 10,08:59 AM Hi guys
I've finaly got the dirt bike and looking forward to comming out riding. I've own a few dirt bikes in the past,a TT250 s [86] and got a free holiday with it too,but then work comes first and buying a house too. 20 years later ,I've got the dirt bike back again and a wr 250 [2t] is now in my hot hands ! I'll read the forums and get to know some of you and look forward to comming out riding...please be easy on me ! See you all in the dirt roosting some tracks........do they still say roosting ? Timmey Title: Re: new rider here... Post by: Serge C on July 29, 2009, 09,44:44 PM Yes, they still say roosting! Welcome aboard. Why not come along to a meeting and meet people face to face, chat with some ride leaders and then get along to a ride or two. Or, as you say, read up on some rides and jump straight in. Enjoy! ;D Title: Re: new rider here... Post by: Aaron on July 30, 2009, 08,35:55 AM Welcome Timmey. Great to see another 2 stroker out there. What year model is it?
A lot of people start with a Marysville ride. Or Mat's Cobaw ride would also be good to get back in the swing. The great thing about riding with AMTRA is when things go badly wrong, everyone will chip in to help out. Unfortunatly we have seen a couple of examples of this lately. Title: Re: new rider here... Post by: timmey on July 30, 2009, 10,04:48 AM Thanks Aaron and Serge
Easy rides for me at the moment would be the go,lots of fast flowing tracks sound good. The bike is a 98 mod and has been looked after very well. It's all got it's pieces and I've just been ajusting it to a timmey level , [cleaning , replacing phillips with hex heds] I don't relize how old it is untill I try looking for parts for it. Most parts start at 02 and up so finding after maket gear, it just misses out. If any one has a good web site or a dealer who stocks gear to trick up bikes or replace damaged gear, please let us know...thank you. |
