Hi All

I currently have a Husaberg FE550.  It has been at Valley Force Husaberg for nearly a month and they have not even looked at it yet.  I am going to buy a new bike and put my name down for the Berg 570.  I am going to cancel the order because I dont want to have to wait this long if something goes wrong with a new bike.

I am thinking about a WR450 or similar.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Peter R please do not respond to this if you happen to see this post.

I know that everyone has a different opinion about certain bikes but I really need some help here because I dont know much about most makes at the moment.  I dont want a two stroke as the last one I had I could not ride so figured my riding is not up to scratch to handle a two stroke.

Thanks

Husqvarna TE449 is an AWESOME bike, i was lucky enough to spend a day on one 2 weeks ago, and fell in love with it, i will have one soon.
At $1000 cheaper than any other brand you cant go wrong, it also has a 12 month warranty.
The WR450 is a great bike, but hasnt been changed except for bold new graphics for 5 years, so it's a little bit dated

Hey Darren
In my limited experience on bike's trying is Probably the best way to see if it fits YOU,
You can quote figures all day long but when it feels right it inspires confidence so try as many bike’s as you can.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Beer in one hand - throttle in the other - body thoroughly used up,totally worn out and screeming what a ride

I'd have to agree with Nathan here.  You know that you can't go wrong with Team Blue (I can attest to that), but I reckon I'm gonna look for something a little different next time around and the Husky 310 is ticking those boxes (on paper) at this stage.

You're bigger than me, so more cubes is important, but as Meat Head says, try before you buy!  There are enough people in the club willing to give you a squirt on their bikes.  Take em up on it, then hit a dealer for a more comprehensive test ride.

Good luck!

WR450 has not even had bold new graphics, just new graphics. They have the runs on the board for overall reliability but as Alistair found out not all of them are good ones. I have had no problems with mine (touch wood) and like riding it. Just don't want to try any other bikes at the moment - trying to go a year without buying a bike.

Deals on both WR450F and CRF450X get actual price equal to or less than the Husky. But apart from having to get to like the styling, the Husky did look great in Nathan's hands (and I got to see it go past heaps of times).

Ring First Class and see if you can get a run on it for a day, Nathan has already broken it in so not much that you could do to it.

As far as the new Bergs go, they seem to be doing well reliability wise so having to get something done may not be the issue that you are getting with the FE550.

If you want to try different look at the Sherco's and members with them have had good service from Powerhouse in Pakenham.

Oh yeah, if you believe the bike press and figures, new bike sales are down. If you express interest in a new bike and the sales guy or dealer don't suck up to you, go and find someone who will.

Did you get any reason why your bike has not been looked at?

You weak Bastarrd, i never thought the day would come when you would lower yourself to a tin can bike, maybe you need to have another bash on the 570, maybe that might jog your memory why your on such a prestigious piece of European Craftsmanship.

No problem with the work they do and I have had them do repairs before.  I am just a bit frustrated that they have had it a while and had not even looked at it until yesterday.  Big End.

So other than that there is no story to tell.  Good luck with your court case Craig525
