Was in Cobaw on Saturday, and am disgusted with the state of the area surrounding the Ridge Road carpark. Toilet paper everywhere.

THERE ARE NO TOILETS AT COBAW.

Oue bodies may well be designed to have a poo first thing in the morning, and a dump in the woods may seem like the logical option before getting on the bike.

So - please be prepared - you have a few options ahead of rubbishing the area with poo stained paper.

1/ Poo at home before you come.

2/ Poo at Calder

3/ Poo your pants

If you absolutely must take a dump in our state forests, please bury it (and the paper) at least 6 inches deep.

This applies to everywhere - not just Cobaw.

Hear Hear ,I was there as well,the DSE should
rub their noses in the mess and then sting em up
and dont think it just happens there,
I see it everywhere I go camping and it turns my
stomach ,people are just to lazy Angry

Cobaw is a low priority state forest. Toilets have been considered but present levels of attendance by DSE at Cobaw are greater than minimum required for upkeep of toilets. So it is not likely that toilets will be built there.

Options 1 and 2 are best.

If you really need to go and can't dig and bury, there is a servo about 15-20 minutes away toward Kyneton.

Do what the SAS does, poo into glad wrap and put it into your backpack to take home.

In order to bring a little of the arts and culture to this poo thread, I have written a small poem to both entertain and educate the dirtbike masses.

COBAW AND MY COLON -

(or "pre-ride poo" - a how to guide)

Most would think developed species
Would not go and dump their faeces.
Yet some riders think it's fit
To make others live in sh*t.

Please take this poem as a guide
There are options before you ride
If you need to lay some cable
Please do this if you are able

Try to dump whilst at your house
But do not leave it for your spouse
They too do not appreciate
A very smelly defecate

Or when you do drive past Calder
Please feel free to dump a boulder
Maybe even steal some paper
For the glovebox (to use later)

If you're riding in the bush
Of course you'll want to wipe your toosh
But don't leave paper lying 'round
Dig a hole and bury deep down

If you find thats not preventive
You can really get inventive
For those poos that are really runny
Create your own travel dunny!

As you see there are some ways
To ensure some poo free days
There is nothing worse I guess
Than ending up in someones mess

Some people think this poem absurd
All this rhyme about a turd
It does sound strange, I must admit
But not as strange as dumping sh*t

So before you ride and spend a penny
Just take some time to think how many
Holes are now amongst the trees
It makes our Cobaw like swiss cheese
