Title: Red Plate Rego
Post by: Serge C on October 16, 2012, 01,29:16 AM

Running side-by-side with the Rec Reg debate, is the use of Red Plate Rego.

Here is an interesting article that Steve F found, regarding setting up a club, and applying for the 'right' to issue Red Plates.

Makes me wonder wether AMTRA should consider it!

This sounds good but does not cover TAC issues. How do you get around that ??

As far as I'm aware, Red Plate Rego still covers you for TAC while riding.

But I must admit, TAC coverage is not the first thing I think about when I go riding.  TAC coverage doesn't affect the decisions I make regarding what rego I 'buy'.   It's more about what I'm gonna do with that particular bike.

Remember, Red Plate Rego is only available for bikes over 25 years of age.

Haha.. thats funny. Sounds like a good club to be in. I cannot see any reason why AMTRA cannot get into this. We might attract new members with older bikes.
