it doesn't matter whether vic roads say your ok interstate or not, it comes down to will tac still pay up and will mr plod over the border book you. i'd be checking that before riding over the border

TAC will cover you interstate, PROVIDED the rego iis accepted.
Yes, it does need to be investigated to confirm that inter-state jurisdictions accept our rec-rego.  I mentioned that earlier.

Perhaps Amtra could do that?.

I sorta hoped that someone who had rec-rego, and who had an interest in this, might pick up the ball and run with it!

I will (eventually) make the necessary calls.

It would seem the real question should be - Am I going to risk not being covered by TAC if I crash and cannot work for ages for the sake of a few dollars?

I spoke to the RTA in NSW today and as far as they are concerned they reconise the bike as having rego but they did say they could not verify if TAC cover you or not. But by all accounts others have answered that in earlier posts.

If some of you are so worried about it for yourself.
Id say check yourself and get a letter from them.

Because if your in court or trying to do a TAC claim then saying i read it on a fourm aint going to work for you..

Heres one for you that im trying to find out at the moment..

Can i use my car trade plate on motorbikes?

rec reg is a pain in the arse for road testing bikes.
i just strap the trade plate to my back, hearsay sais its leagle but still waiting on vic roads to confirm.
