This is good discussion. Thanks guys for your input. It has highlighted at least one thing.....Nathan has too many bikes!!
Seriously, the question is not wether to/or not use full reg. The issue is...what exactly can we do with rec reg?
Personally, I'll only have full reg on my main bike, but there are plenty of guys who have decided that rec reg is perfect for them. I'd like to see that they know exactly what they are and aren't allowed to do with it.
You can never have too many bikes!

When you have more than 1 bike, full reg is a little pricey
I agree, BUT if you have only one Bike, you should run Full Reg, makes life a lot easier!! Use the reg that suits you best, be it full, rec or club. No one reg is better than another, just different. If you only ride where rec reg is acceptable why spend more than you need to. If you want to go into towns for longer rides then have full reg. If you want to go into town on cheap reg get club plates on your old banger. The important thing is to get out there and ride.

Off topic or not, it's good to see some action on here for a change, some times, I reckon it's not worth opening it up, it would even be better for the members sitting on the fence to have some input as well....not the same old ppl.

Its good to see some body some intelagance good on you Mat. its all right for those who are self employed and can afford full reg. but have a thouhgt for those who still want to enjoy the sport but have a limited income and only use there bike 1/2 dozen times a year.

I've only got 6 bikes I will have to try harder. Would club plates be an option on lder bikes? Just over $100 and a logbook for 100 days has got to be good value

John, No one is criticizing you on your choice of registration. If is suits your style of riding that is all that matters. However there is an unresolved question as to the validity of the registration interstate, and this should be resolved with a written communication with both authorities. Perhaps Amtra could do that?. Phil R.
