Well...now that I have your attention...This is Bob does Beardmore Track (which is much more interesting  Grin) down to the Thompson River. Johnny and I had a ball and i rode some hills and terrain that I never have done before...It was a fantastic test to see where my ability is now..and Johnny says Im a champ.I am so excited about this!!
We spent Xmas day doing an adventure ride, left Aberfeldy River, headed up onto the Thompson/Aberfeldy road, went through Aberfeldy and on towards Matlock but turned off at Mt Selma road and headed towards Mt Useful, the veiws from the firetower were quite spectacular looking out over Gippsland. From here we decided to head down to Donnellys Creek Track and had lunch at Donnellys Creek. At this stage Johnny pointed out some interesting tracks leading up from Lloyds Hut..I then pointed out to Johnny that I think I will wait till hell freezes over before i ride them tracks..!!!...So we continued along Donnelleys Creek track and passed Jorgensens Hut and onto Merringtons where we crossed the river...and headed back up to the Thompson / Aberfeldy Road (Johnny stopped with a wishful look in his eye as we passed Pheasant track..those who know this track will know why  Grin) we ended up riding down Low Saddle Track back to the Aberfeldy Bridge,Im sure the others camping at the bridge where we were based heard "The Oh My Gods" as each down hill became steeper and steeper until I finally made it to the bottom..unscathed but a tad stressed  Embarrassed. Johnny gave me a big hug and a congratulations and welcome to high country terrian..oh and by the way says Johnny...were riding up there tomorrow..and then down Beardmore!!! Shocked...(what a great way to spend xmas day.- dirt bike riding, wouldnt have missed it for quids  Grin )But alas..the next day, i did ride up Low Saddle..incident free...now i have done it..what was all the stress about??..Beardmore was a challenge..especially the last staircase before dropping onto the Thompson River!!..My god has anyone ridden that so that you know what Im talkin about!! Adrenalin was pumpin at that stage..but what a terrific chance for me to really hone in on some of the skills i have learned. Johnny said Im all growed up now! im sure i even saw a tear in his eye, he was rather emotional about it all.  Roll Eyes
We crosed the river and adventure rode to Rawson and then headed down to Coopers Creek where we crossed the Thompson River...AGAIN!!... where we had a nice picnic lunch, from there it was going to be a cruisy ride back via Maidentown track and then back to camp. But..aha..theres more..Johnny had been so busy maintaing his bike all this time..he forgot to check my front sprocket didnt he  Angry Undecided...so with an RS front sprocket, it was another challenge for me, being towed 30 K'S BACK TO CAMP..STRESS LEVELS ARE UP THERE NOW...IvE NEVER BEEN TOWED ON A BIKE BEFORE!!!..NOT HAPPY JAN!!
With a few hits and misses along the way we finally made it back..the misses being..i want him to slow down..so i hit the foot brake...keeping my foot on the tow rope..of course bike comes out from under me..bike gets dragged for a short stint as rope didnt release straight away..and Bob sliding freely down the rocky hill...alas now a bruised and grazed arse. Thanks for the tow Johnny.
So that was our xmas...hope yours was great aswell. where shall i ride next!?...love Bob  Grin

Bob,You keep this up and you'll be looking to trade in the TTR for something a little bigger. The KTM Freeride 350 is just about the right seat height and not much heavier. Hmmm
Well done on your improved status.
