For those of you who are interested, here's a short review of the night.
HOT! and Steamy!
The heavens opened up as we made our way to the stadium, and it was traffic chaos in the city, but we got to Etihad, found our seats (I don't MOSH), and settled in.
The stage was HUGE, and almost dwarfed the band, but screens kept you informed with what was going on. The show it self was nothing short of spectacular! I won't give too much away for those going tonight, but it starts with a video and culminatse with an expolsion as the 'Rock n Roll Train' bursts onto the stage, and heralds the first song.
There was a good mix of songs from the new 'Black Ice' album, as well as the Back in Black / Hells Bell / Stiff Upper Lip days. The Melbourne crowd got real revved up when they did some of the oldies like T.N.T, High Voltage (where they put pictures of Bon Scott up on the video screen), Let There Be Rock, and She's Got the Jack, where they turned the cameras onto the audience and singled out all the girlies who dutifully lifted their shirts and flashed their (bra clad) titties!
Look out for the special props like the Hell's Bell and Rosie, and be amazed by lighting and video effects. But especially be amazed by the raw energy and stamina of Angus Young and the boys. It was full on for the whole show. And it was LOUD!
On a down side, the roof was closed for the Thursday night show, and I think this affected the sound quality a bit. But the worst thing was getting out of the stadiun and onto the cross-over bridge to Spencer Street. My advice, stay in your seat for at least an hour. That's how long it took to walk about 500 meters.
Otherwise, enjoy a great night, and...
For those about to rock, we salute you!!
