Title: Hazard Alert - West Kiewa Logging Road
Post by: Mat R on October 19, 2010, 10,45:31 PM
Hazard Alert - West Kiewa Logging Road
from DBW posting.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During track clearing work on the West Kiewa Logging Road, four sets of road spikes were found embedded in the road surface. They were made from star pickets, embedded to a depth of approximately 500 mm and had a sharpened spike (apparently formed by use of an angle grinder) protruding approximately 80 mm above the road surface.

Further inspection and investigation has not revealed any other spikes, but it is possible that some still remain or new ones may be set by the perpetrator.

Please exercise caution when using this road and report any suspicious behaviour which may be related to this offence to the police.
