Title: East Link
Post by: Ian Robinson on July 02, 2008, 09,34:06 AM
I have used the eastlink road for two days now. Most days I travel to the city for work so go from bayswater (boronia rd) to the city. I know it is school holidays at present but so far I seem to be saving at least 20 minutes each way.
I expect the polls to cost around $5.00 per day when the charges start and with the less stop starting hopefully will save more than the $5.00 a day in tolls with less fuel being used.
Interestingly each day so far there have been crashes both ways and a B double that was stopped just before the tunnel heading to the city which clearly was way too high to fit and was facing a long reverse to get back to an exit ramp.
I hate having to pay for the road but it may be cheaper and alot quicker to just use it.

Ian

I travelled from Hoddle St to home in Kilsyth in 30 minutes this afternoon and I'd agree with the 20 minute saving in time. I think it will be good for getting from the my place to the city and to the southern suburbs.
It's a bummer that we are going to pay for it in the future.

I just took my missus on a date.  We croozed East Link. Very impressive piece of road.   How romantic am I?

(She said that I wouldn't mention the dinner and movie we also went out for!)
