Reports on the ABC say that the area of the Marysville ride is burnt.
Marysville has had the fire go through it, major damage.

The fires have burnt a lot of the areas we ride around Melbourne. Gembrook, Wesburn, Marysville, Kinglake, Mt Disappointment.

The ABC has coverage on channel 2 now, they should have footage of Marysville soon as they have set a chopper out there.

Just seen the footage of Marysville, very bad, most homes gone. Didn't see footage of the main st, hope it's okay, but I don't hold much hope.

These quotes are off the ABC web site:

Eye witness accounts:

"Raylene Kincaide from Narbethong north-east of Melbourne says her home has been destroyed and there is little left of the town"

One building standing:

The Country Fire Authority says there is "possibly one building left standing" in Marysville, after relentless bushfires engulfed the town, north of Melbourne .

"Anyone who knows Marysville, it's a beautiful town and that's really sad. "It's very disturbing for the township itself."

The CFA later issued a statement saying Marysvalle residents were safe and had assembled at the local Gallipoli Park.

Bugger. That is really sad. Marysville was a great spot to ride into for lunch at the cake shop. We have enjoyed many pleasant lunches there and some great riding in the area.

A DSE map of the Marysville area and the estimated burnt area. Note other burnt areas also.

Photo of Marysville from the ABC website.

Looking south west from above the corner of Lyell St and Darwin St.

The Pub would be on the left out of shot.

We come down that road that's going at an angle when we come out of the Triangle into Marysville. The main road is behind it and the roundabout is out of shot also.

A year on, thinking about that day, it's hard to put it into words.

173 dead...

But them I didn't see it like one of us did...
