Identity theft is becoming an issue these days but I did not realize how much it could effect your life until some low life got a hold of a copy of my drivers licence and put his photo on it. This bastard clocked up 3 traffic offences and could have opened bank accounts, credit card accounts, mobile phone accounts etc. in my name and ruined my credit rating, scarey stuff. Fortunately for me Vic Roads and NSW police caught up with this guy and was charged for this and other offences. The Vic Roads investigator was very helpful and I now have a new licence number and all is well, but has warned me to never ever let anyone potocopy my licence.
